New Wave Cyber Academy was founded by Jamel Robinson, whose career in technology began in 2006 and spans more than two decades. He came into cybersecurity from QA automation, already carrying a tester's instinct for breaking things along with the coding and automation skills that shaped how he approaches security work today. More than a decade of that career has been spent in cybersecurity and penetration testing, and along the way he kept meeting motivated people who understood the theory but had never been given the chance to actually do the work. What he found is that the people who make it are not the ones who started with the right background. They are the ones with the desire to learn, the motivation to keep going, and the willingness to put in the effort.
New Wave Cyber Academy was created to bridge that gap by making high quality cybersecurity education affordable, accessible, and focused on real world skills. Through hands on labs, career focused learning paths, monthly cohort sessions that connect students with peers and mentors, and personalized coaching, we are helping create a new wave of cybersecurity talent prepared to succeed from day one.

- eLearnSecurity Web Application Penetration Tester (eWPT), issued by INE Security
- Masters in Software Engineering from Pennsylvania State University
- Presented on web application security and penetration testing services to civilian staff at the Army Logistics University, Fort Lee, Virginia
